Benjamin Hartley, of Mansfield, was stopped by a Putnam County Sheriff’s deputy at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 when he committed a traffic violation on the interstate while traveling through Southeast.
During the stop, it was determined that Hartley, 33, was in possession of concentrated cannabis, marijuana and a handgun that he did not have a permit for. Hartley was arrested at the scene and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility to be processed for the arrest.
Hartley was charged with a felony count of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
